Nice write up – though it seems like a bit of an apples and oranges comparison.

Not sure that I agree that setup process with Typekit is easier. You have to include the scripts, build the kit, and then publish it. And after you publish, it's unclear when it's ready, so you have this step where you wonder if it's working.

You download a working example with the Font Squirrel, which in my book, makes it much easier to set up.
